Third Pull
A downloadable game
The game is about operating a fictional screen-printing press. Printing each color through its own screen is the real process. The linked knobs are the part I’d describe as specific to this machine.
The municipal baths want a poster with a brass bell over a blue door. You turn a knob on the printing press and pull a sheet. The bell is straight now. The door’s gone sideways, and that was one of your ten sheets.
Third Pull is a puzzle game about getting that poster to print the way the customer ordered it. On a screen-printing press, each color of ink goes through its own screen, and the separate layers make one image on the paper. I gave this press a set of linked gears, so adjusting one screen can shift the next one too. Sometimes it pays to leave the bell crooked for a bit.
I made 24 poster commissions in four sets. The first four are in the free sampler. The full edition also has a poster bench where you can draw your own designs and turn them into puzzles for other people, or export the finished posters as SVG files. Both editions run offline in a desktop browser.
